Fleece diaper covers are an excellent cover for cloth diapers. Fleece is a breathable fabric that allows air to pass through the material to keep baby cool and dry. Fleece is passive resistant material. It will allow moisture to pass through if the interior of the diaper becomes too saturated. If wicking happens (you feel a dampness to baby's clothes) it is telling you that you need to change baby sooner.
There are ways to prime your fleece diaper cover and all-in-one. First, you can simply wash the diaper or cover three times. This helps the material to flatten out and mesh together well before putting it to use. The other option is to use a fabric softener in the first two of the three washes. This forms a kind of barrier on the fabric to help it perform better. Our SnugWee fleece diapers are made with a DWR (Durable Water Resistant) grading on them. The DWR makes them water resistant and wonderful in their performance. If, however you have had problems with an older fleece diaper not performing as well as it used to, you can try the fabric softener option. You can also try it on other non-SnugWee fleece diapers. |
